This award(s) is presented to a Moose Jaw charitable or not-for-profit business, or small business of 20 employees or less that displays a commitment to making Moose Jaw a better place to live through the development and support of a community project or program.
To be awarded to the business that demonstrates exceptional performance in its support of recreation, amateur sports, arts and culture, charitable or non-profit volunteer groups.
To be awarded to the business that consistently demonstrates excellence in service and/or hospitality. Criteria will examine services offered by the business; training programs for staff and management or its contribution to the Moose Jaw and immediate area tourism.
Awarded to a young entrepreneur (age 35 or under on December 31, 2018) who has established or expanded a business on or before December 31, 2018. The young entrepreneur will have demonstrated signs of success and viability in the venture. Judging will take into account relative size of business.
This award is designed to recognize innovation success by a business which adapts to market place challenges resulting in a competitive advantage.
This award is to the business demonstrating exceptional performance in marketing; which has had a positive effect on sales and product recognition. The jury evaluates the success of a marketing program giving consideration to the nature of the product and the relative size of the business.
New Business Venture
To be awarded to a new business that has been operating for less than two years, as of December 31, 2018 and which has demonstrated positive performance in terms of certain financial criteria, expansion into new product line or business, creation of new markets or job creation.
Pillar of the Community Award
This award is designed to recognize pioneer and cornerstone business leaders in Moose Jaw & District who have demonstrated excellence over an extended period of time and whose business has contributed to the economic well-being of Moose Jaw and district.
Newcomer Entrepreneur Award
Awarded to a newcomer entrepreneur who has established or re-established a business and has 51%+ ownership. Demonstrates community involvement (for example: donated goods or services of any size). The newcomer has created a welcoming and inclusive business environment and employment and/or internship/practicum opportunities for others.
To be awarded to the business demonstrating exceptional performance in creating new permanent or permanent seasonal jobs. The jury evaluates the growth and creation of new jobs taking into account the relative size and nature of the business.
This award is in recognition of wildly popular Social Media posts. This award celebrates people and businesses putting themselves out there and speaking directly to their audience through social platforms that bring success to their respective business, creating devoted brand advocates and even driving leads and sales.
Moose Jaw and District Farm of the Year
This award recognizes farms who been actively involved in civic and community affairs in an effort to promote and improve agriculture/ranching industry.
Business Leader of the Year
This is awarded to an individual who exemplifies the qualities of the business visionary.
Business of the Year
To be awarded to a business that demonstrates overall success, judged according to certain financial criteria, growth, use of capital investment, exceptional performance in exporting goods, job creation, stability or community involvement. The winner is selected from the one of the nominee’s of the other categories. No application required.
