Moose Jaw Union Hospital Auxiliary

The Moose Jaw Union Hospital Auxiliary has been supporting healthcare both financially and through outstanding volunteerism in Moose Jaw since 1907 when they were known as the Daughters of the Empire, Today, that spirit of volunteerism continues. The Auxiliary is the largest and oldest supporter of the Health Foundation. To date the Auxiliary has committed nearly $900,000.00 towards the purchase of state of the art equipment, programs and services to enhance direct patient care.
The volunteers spend hundreds of hours each year running the gift shop at the Hospital and everyday their gift cart provides smiles, flowers and sweet treats to patients in their rooms. Through out the year members organize book sales, bake sales, hand knit sweaters and scarves along with their ever popular raffles. Everything they do centers on supporting the Health Foundation and helping patients everyday on their road to recovery.

Simone Shouldice

Over the last decade or so since leaving full-time employment, and certainly in the past year, Simone has given of her time in a volunteer capacity on an almost daily basis. In the recent past, this has been in additon to a lot of time spent lending assistance to both her mother and mother in law in their latter years.
The diligence and competence that she dipslays in her volunteer efforts is remarkable. And Simone does all that she does in a “quiet” and unassuming manner. Her efficiency and attention to detail are frequently mentioned by everyone involved in her endeavors.
Some of the organizations Simone volunteers with are: the Five Hills Health Region, Moose Jaw Warrior’s Booster Club, Maguire Center and Providence Place.
